2nd Semester Meeting Between Civil Engineering Staff and Students

Among the approach of Civil Engineering Department to communicate with department students, and their participation in the academic process, (Dr. Hasan Ibrahim) the coordinator of Civil Engineering Department and the staff have met the students of department from all levels, on Tuesday (27-6-1434 H) in the Drawing Hall in department.

 The meeting started with the greeting of (Dr. Hasan Ibrahim) the coordinator of Civil Engineering Department for the attendance, he wished for them a semester full of success and distinction. He requested from all students to acquaint the schedule for the next semester to check out any conflict to inform the coordinator of Department to manage it before the next semester starts.

The coordinator requested also from students to visit their academic advisers periodically to acquaint the latest updated rules and legislations, to activate the cooperation with advisors.

The coordinator emphasized that there will be no restoration for any exam except for those with compulsory absence due to the non-ability to reach the exam room like staying at hospital.

The coordinator with staff then heard from students about their problems or notes during their academic procession, which was summarized by the following:

1. The existence of plenty of time between early lectures and late mid exams. Students emphasized their desire to let each teacher to detect the exam time with his students within the exams period.
2. Students requested to have a double explanation in both Arabic and English to get the whole information. Dr. Sameh Ahmad emphasized the commitment in the strategy in the college to teach in English. He encouraged the students to develop their English language through using English terminology among them like the courses names and sending emails to their teachers in English.
3. Students mentioned that there is a shortage in the raw materials inside labs to achieve some practical experiments.
4. Students requested to study some courses that they have removed or failed in before at summer semester like Chemistry, Statics, Dynamics and Statics.
5. Referendum was achieved to detect the students desire about the old or new academic plans at department. Two opinions were heard.

At the end of meeting, (Dr. Hasan Ibrahim) the coordinator of Civil Engineering Department requested from students not to hesitate in recording any notes or problems facing them in their academic process, and that the door of department will be always open to communicate with them to solve all their academic problems.
