The trip which took place on Tuesday under the supervision of Dr. Yahya Al-Jahmani, featured a field visit to Rock detectors and geological structures in the study area, in addition to exploring ancient sedimentation environments.
Students were also engaged in a hands-on training for what have been learned in the course.
The students conducted a detailed geological study of the rock layers and the various rock minerals present in the study area, including geological surveys to determine the types of sedimentary rocks in the sequences of the rock layers of the rock detection.
Following global geological standards for classification of rocks and rock minerals, the students made a geological classification of the different types of rocks in the study area.
