A Workshop at College of Engineering entitled “Importance of Academic Advising for Students’ Academic Achievement”

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Saleh Al-Dahsh, a workshop entitled “Importance of Academic Advising for Students’ Academic Achievement” was held on Monday in the conference room. Delivered by both the Vice-Dean for Educational Affairs, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Sa’adouni and the Supervisor of Student Support Unit, Dr. Yazeed Qasaimah, the workshop aims to educate faculty members at the college about the latest practices of academic advising. Dr. Al-Sa’adouni, the vice-dean, encouraged faculty members to attend regularly the workshops held by the college on academic advising. The workshop addressed the importance of academic advising for students to keep up with their study plan and overcome obstacles related to course registration without any delay. Major problems faced by students in keeping up with their study plan and how to overcome that in cooperation with the academic advisor were also discussed in the workshop. Faculty members commended the workshop which greatly improve their skills in academic advising.
