A Workshop entitled “Importance of Academic Counseling for Students”

As part of the activities held by the Vice-Dean’s Office for Educational Affairs, the Student Support Unit conducted on Tuesday a workshop entitled “Importance of Academic Counseling for Students”.
The workshop was presented by Dr. Ahmed Al-Mubarak, in the presence of the Vice-Dean for Educational Affairs, Dr. Abdullah Al-Attani, who commended the workshop and highlighted the importance of academic advising for students.
Dr. Mohammed Jad Al-Rab, a member at the unit, talked about the significant role of academic counselor in the educational process.
A hands-on session was held to explain for students the process of accessing the academic system and how to find their academic advisors including contact details.
The workshop addressed the following topics:
1. Introduce students to the importance of academic advising
2. Role of academic advisor
3. Skills of academic advising
4. Steps of harnessing academic advising services
5. Mechanism of academic advising
6. Responsibility of students in the process of academic advising
7. A hands-on session on how to access the academic system and find the advisor.
