Dr. Riyadh wins Best Research Poster Award at the 2nd Majmaah University International Stroke Conference

Dr. Riyad Ahmed Sheikh, Associate Professor at the College of Medicine, has received the Best Research Poster Award as part of the Majmaah University International Stroke Conference 2026, in recognition of his outstanding research contribution and its significant scientific and public health impact.

The award was granted for his study titled:
“Premature mortality from stroke in Saudi Arabia (1990–2023): temporal trends in mortality and years of life lost using secondary data.”

The research provides an in-depth scientific analysis of premature deaths caused by stroke in Saudi Arabia over more than three decades. It examines temporal trends in mortality rates and years of life lost using secondary data, contributing valuable insights that support healthcare policymakers and strengthen evidence-based planning in public health.

This achievement reflects the excellence of scientific research at the College of Medicine and the active role of its faculty members in addressing nationally important health issues, while enhancing research output quality in line with healthcare development goals and the Saudi Vision 2030.
