Realizing that the development of its staff professionally is at the forefront of its strategic plans, the Continuing Professional Development Department is holding multiple courses and workshops accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, during the month of September 2023.
The supervisor of the Department, Mr. Turki Al-Humaidani, pointed out that these specialized programs - at the request of MU rector, Prof. Al-Mizil, and the follow-up of Prof. Al-Dosari - aim to develop staff in their specializations.
It is worth noting that all the courses are specialized in medicine and will enrich practitioners' knowledge.
The university, represented by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, in cooperation with the Community Service and Social Responsibility Observatory, organized training courses and workshops in the field of research, innovation and entrepreneurship for talented students in the Majmaah Education Department, as this step comes within the community partnerships urged to be activated by His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Mizil.
These training courses and workshops aim to develop students' skills and enhance their capabilities in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship, and were organized in preparation for participating in the National Creativity Olympiad 2024, and nearly 200 students benefited from these courses, where they were able to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the competition.
For his part, the Vice President for Student Affairs, Dr. Jawaher bint Abdulrahman Al-Omar, stated that these community partnerships are one of the university's priorities to enhance its role in community service and the development of young talents, and this step reflects the university's commitment to providing the necessary support and appropriate opportunities for talented students, and enabling them to achieve their full potential in the field of innovation and leadership.
The Head of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Dakhil Al-Mutairi, stated that these training courses and workshops are expected to be a bright start to a promising future for talented students, and contribute to building a creative and innovative generation that contributes to the development of society and the local economy, explaining that the university is a pioneer in providing support and training in this aspect, and is working to continue providing appropriate opportunities for talented students in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship.

The College of Medicine, represented by the Continuing Medical Education Unit of the Vice Deanship for Clinical Affairs, held a workshop for male and female students entitled: Clinical skills for distinguished medical practitioners, where the workshop aimed to develop knowledge, science and the correct way to reach pathological diagnosis through clinical skills, and the workshop was (8) stations, each station is a workshop for clinical skill, to prepare graduates from the Faculty of Medicine for clinical work, and acquire high skills during their graduation.
The Head of the Continuing Medical Education Unit at the Faculty of Medicine explained that such workshops aim to strengthen the practical and skill side of the graduates of the Faculty of Medicine from the university, and to give an honorable image of the outputs of the Faculty of Medicine, and praise be to God, about 85 students from the Faculty of Medicine were trained over two days, and thanks to God and then to His Excellency Dean Dr. Rashid Barrada for his support for such workshops and courses.
It is worth mentioning that the workshop hosted a group of colleagues from King Khalid Hospital in Majmaah, headed by the Medical Director Dr. Ali Al-Tayyar, the Head of Surgical Departments Dr. Abdul Majeed Al-Mutairi, as well as the Head of the Department of Anesthesia Dr. Kamel Hadi, and the workshop included a distinguished constellation of faculty members, namely: Dr. Yousef Al-Rahimi, Dr. Muhammad Al-Jalifi, Dr. Muhammad Al-Tariqi, Dr. Al-Abbas Muhammad, Dr. Yasser Al-Khalifa, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Rafia, Dr. Muhammad Al-Buqami, and Dr. Ahmed Al-Mutairi.
This workshop is part of a series of courses and workshops held for students of the Faculty of Medicine to prepare them and develop their skills, which contributes and enhances the efficiency of the university's outputs.

Under the patronage of the Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Rumaih, the Scholarship and Training Department held a workshop entitled (The Scholarship Journey: Conditions and Challenges), through the Microsoft Teams program, where His Excellency Prof. Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Rumaih opened the workshop welcoming the attendees and praising the plans and efforts developed by the Scholarship and Training Department at the university for the university's scholarship students who are at the head of the scholarship, as well as the administration's plan, efforts and programs that serve those who are about to receive scholarships, which His Excellency also thanked the speakers of the workshop for their efforts in seeking to overcome the obstacles that may face the university's scholarship students and managing the workshop to the fullest and responding to the attendees' inquiries, and he also thanked the Scholarship and Training Department at the university for organizing and holding this workshop, which serves a large category of university employees, especially its scholarship students, stressing the need to continue holding such direct meetings with scholarship students inside the Kingdom and those outside it. At the end of his speech, he expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Mizil, for his continuous support and constant follow-up to everything related to scholarship students and scholarship students from the academic, technical and administrative aspects. This workshop was moderated by members of the Standing Committee for Scholarship and Training for Majmaah University employees, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Dakhil, and Dr. Ali bin Abdul Karim Al-Saawi, and it included a detailed explanation, comprehensive clarification and interpretation of all the regulations for scholarship and training for university employees from the procedures, regulations and instructions of scholarships, and the services provided by the competent authorities at the university to scholarship students, and many challenges facing the scholarship student and the available solutions were raised, thanks to which the scholarship student overcomes all obstacles during the scholarship process, and at the end of the workshop Respond to attendees' inquiries.
For his part, the Director of the Scholarship and Training Department at the university, Mr. Hamad bin Ahmed Al-Sinani, thanked and appreciated the Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Rumaih, for his sponsorship and honor of the workshop and his constant follow-up of the affairs of scholarship students and his guidance in serving them through all available means around the clock, and he thanked the members of the Standing Committee for Scholarship and Training for their management of the workshop, and also praised the success of the workshop as it achieved all its desired goals, and explained that it targeted the agents of graduate studies and research Scientific in all faculties, and scholarship students who are at the head of scholarships, and those who are about to scholarship from university employees.

The College of Medicine, represented by the Continuing Medical Education Unit of the Vice Deanship for Clinical Affairs, held a workshop for male and female students on learning surgical suturing skills using simulation tools for real wounds, and the workshop included a theoretical lecture and then a practical application of what was explained, as the workshop benefits teaching the types and skills of surgical suturing, preparing graduates from the Faculty of Medicine for clinical work, and acquiring high skills upon graduation.
For his part, the Vice Dean of the College of Medicine for Clinical Affairs, Dr. Abdullah Al-Olayan, explained that such courses and workshops aim to strengthen the practical and skill side of the graduates of the College of Medicine from the university, and give an honorable image of the college's outputs, noting the efforts of the Head of the Medical Education Unit, Dr. Abdul Malik Al-Bakr, explaining that about 75 students from the College of Medicine were trained - praise be to God -, and Dr. Al-Olayan thanked the Dean of the College, Dr. Rashid Barrada, for his support for such programs.
It is worth mentioning that the workshop was hosted by the Head of the Surgical Departments at King Khalid Hospital in Majmaah, Dr. Abdul Majeed Al-Mutairi, as a trainer in this workshop, and the workshop also included Dr. Mishari Al-Zahrani from the Department of Urology at the College of Medicine, in addition to Dr. Abdul Malik Al-Bakr, and this workshop is part of a series of courses and workshops held for students of the College of Medicine to prepare them and develop their skills to enhance the efficiency of the university's outputs.
The university, represented by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at the University Agency for Student Affairs, participated in a workshop on the innovative product classification service initiative for inventors under the patronage of the Ministry of Education represented by the Research and Innovation Agency and in partnership with the Saudi Food and Drug Authority. The workshop was attended by His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Saeed Bajahzar, Head of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, who had an intervention and presented two proposals, which were recommended to be among the recommendations of the workshop, and the center's participation was under the guidance of Her Excellency the Vice President for Female Student Affairs, Dr. Jawaher bint Abdulrahman Al-Omar, and under the follow-up of His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Mizil, and the keenness to ensure that the university has a fingerprint in serving innovators and innovations.

Within the framework of the continuous follow-up of the repercussions of the Corona pandemic on the educational environment and work to build knowledge and expertise in crisis management, the university, under the patronage of the Vice President of the University, Prof. Dr. Musallam bin Muhammad Al-Dosari, held a workshop on epidemiological monitoring and business continuity in the university environment in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Where the workshop began with a speech by the Vice President of the University, in which he talked about the university's experience in epidemiological monitoring work and its positive impact on the continuation of the learning process, pointing to the existence of a specific and clear plan for the university in business continuity that is held periodically through reports received from the concerned authorities at the university and submitted to the university leaders for approval, and the Vice President concluded his speech by thanking the workshop presenter, participants and attendees for their interest, wishing that everyone in this workshop would come out with recommendations that help monitor observations and avoid negatives.
After that, the workshop began by talking about the first axis, which talks about health protocols for the prevention of Covid-19 disease in the educational environment presented by Dr. Muhammad bin Saber bin Dawood Kashgari from the Public Health Authority, while the second axis in which Dr. Lulu bint Saleh Al-Amer talked about the educational requirements in light of health protocols to prevent Covid-19, and the third axis in which Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Ahmed bin Al-Amir talked about the contribution of Majmaah University in establishing vaccine centers and providing Service to the local community, and the epidemiological monitoring axis was the last axis of the workshop, in which Mr. Abdulelah bin Abdullah Al-Mutairi spoke about operational flexibility in the university environment in light of health protocols.
The workshop concluded by allowing the attendees to intervene and discuss, and adopting the recommendations contained therein, the most prominent of which were: strengthening distance education methods, building capacities in holding remote tests, supporting innovation in technical solutions to support teaching and learning, supporting scientific research in epidemic prevention, identifying groups at risk of infection and maintaining a list for them, adopting sterilization and prevention standards routinely, and preparing and training emergency plans to confront epidemics and crises.

Honoring and attending His Excellency the Vice President of the University, Prof. Dr. Musallam bin Muhammad Al-Dosari, the General Administration of Organizational Development held a workshop to introduce the indicative model of procedural manuals, which was attended by specialists from the coordinators of colleges, deanships and departments.
His Excellency the Vice President of the University delivered a speech in which he spoke about the need to continue holding such meetings in order to update the procedural manuals of the university in line with the qualitative shift of procedures at the university.
After that, the workshop was completed by the presentation of the working papers by Mr. Khaled Al-Dhiabi and Dr. Metwally Ismail, during which they talked about the guiding model for procedural manuals and the tool for evaluating procedural evidence.
At the end of the workshop, there were a number of recommendations, the most prominent of which was the formation of a working team of coordinators of the entities under the supervision of the General Administration of Organizational Development according to a flexible plan to update the directories of the university entities in line with the new structural amendments at the university with the need to establish an expanded training course by the university on work procedures and policies and building flow maps.
