The College Council holds the Second meeting in the new academic year 2013/2014

The dean chairs the second college council meeting for the new academic year 2013/2014 on Wednesday 28th Aug 2013 in the council’s meeting room with the presence of all council members. The dean started the meeting with a welcome to all of the presence and a number of topics were discussed including:

Reviewing what was discussed during the first council meeting ad insuring that related issues to the teaching process is complete such as, academic schedules and timetables, and the departments readiness for the new academic year.

Faculty members were encouraged to participate in the University’s rector “University’s e-Learning Distinction” prize. Reassertions were made with regards to the importance of activating the staff web pages specially faculty members, in particular, linking students with their lectures electronically, using virtual classes, encouraging students to using the faculty web pages by publishing academic contents/materials on them and preparing e-Tests and so on. All of which shall aid in the fulfilling of the quality and accreditation requirements, as well as adhering to the University’s rector vision in this respect.

Discussing the arrangements required for holding a workshop namely “Nano-technology and its applications in medicine” upon the approval of the University Rector in the written permission of the conferences, forums, exhibitions and public events head of committee, letter referenced M/L/39, dated 14/07/2013. A preliminary meeting was held with the presence of the representatives of an international organization that specialises in nanotechnology namely Silica-Valley for nanotechnology, the college dean, college’s vice dean for further education and research, scientific departments heads, representatives from the quality department in the college, and the head of PR committee in the college, the report pertaining to the meeting was also discussed.

Exhibiting the new formations of the council departments’ members’ relating to the new academic year 2013/2014, in the light of new developments. Also, exhibiting the new formations of the members of the units and the committees relating to the new academic year 2013/2014, in the light of new developments.

Discussing the importance of activating the “Electronic Committees and Councils System” with regards to the meetings of departments, units and committees. All members shall be committed to signing off the minutes of the meetings electronically and promptly in order for the minutes to move to the next stage according the system in coordination with electronic dealings, with our gratitude for their great services.
