His Excellency the Dean of the Computer and Information Sciences College Dr. Hisham M. Al Saghier fulfilled yesterday the partnership with Microsoft International by inaugurating the Microsoft Academy in the college which affiliated as it did 90 students from the CS and IT Departments.
The Microsoft Academy seeks to train programmers and specialists to apply for internationally-recognized Microsoft accredited certificates in operating systems, programming, network and databases management. The academy will also allow the college to supply students with educational and training material to help them with their graduation projects and during their academic path.
On the other hand, IT Department Lecturer and head of Microsoft Academy Mr. Mohammad Al-Kahtani announced that the college’s care for such partnership is rooted in the belief of the added values such project will bring. He cited the example of all the Microsoft soft wares which will be available to the college and which will in turn support all faculty members in their academic and scientific research output.
Furthermore, the inclusion of the academy’s programs in the college’s curricula is considered as a qualitative initiative which harmonizes with the vision of the college in reconciling scientific theory with practice. In fact, students will be prepared during their academic terms to obtain international scientific diplomas which will help them step into the job market after graduation especially in the light of the widespread and increasing demand for operation systems and Microsoft programming language.
