Early Childhood Education is one of the educational scientific departments that aims to qualify early childhood education teachers scientifically, educationally and professionally to compete in labor market and to contribute in providing research and educational services to the community.
The department deals with a very significant age group and that is early childhood. During this stage, children’s personality is formed, their skills are developed and their talent is discovered. The child also acquires good habits and good citizenship values based on the community’s principles. Children, during this phase, are also prepared to study at school.
Due to the much attention given by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the pre-schooling stage, making it a mandatory prerequisite to join the elementary school stage, there has been a growing demand to have graduates who are specialized in pre-school child care.
With that in mind and based on the decree issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud to establish Majmaah University, the Department of Early Childhood Education was founded under the academic departments of the College of Education in Majmaah during the first semester of the academic year 1432/1433 AH.
The duration of study in the Early Childhood Education Department is four years, after which a student is offered an undergraduate degree.
