Welcome Message from the Head of Department
The English Language Department at Majmaah University offers a thorough four-year academic program leading to a bachelor's degree in English language. The curriculum is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in multiple facets of English, such as linguistics, applied linguistics, translation, and global literature. Students can investigate the challenges of translation while also engaging in critical language research.
The academic plan aligns with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 since one of the department's main goals is to address the needs of the job market and prepare students to become global citizens. This ensures that students have the abilities and information required to fulfill the expectations of the increasingly complex and diverse workplace. What is more, our department has always spearheaded a continuous process of modernizing its academic plan to offer timely courses that explore the fascinating interrelationships between language and culture, language and diplomacy together with how language interacts fruitfully with the totality of physical, natural, and social environment.
In addition to its B.A. programme, the English Department provides a postgraduate M.A. degree in Applied Linguistics. This M.A. programme enriches students’ experience via training them to become competent language researchers in Applied Linguistics with a wide expertise in the field.
