The first phase of the educational awareness campaign was held. Under the auspices of the Faculty of Medicine and the Deanship of Community Services at Majmaah University, on Monday, 13 Rajab 1438 AH, corresponding to April 10, 2017, evening time in Panda supermarket, which aims to raise awareness of the society about common skin, hair and nails problems with its causes, prevention methods and treatments, and the rejection of false believes related to them.
The campaign included a review of the most common skin problems which explained by the participating students to the visitors including the distribution of scientific materials printed on brochures for each problem individually (it benefited about 200 visitors), and the campaign contained a mini clinic supervised by a dermatologist to guide whose in need for medical attention ,about 12 cases were referred to Dermatology Clinic at King Khalid Hospital in Al-Majma'a for the best medical care for their cases.
The campaign included the presence of a skin reader that allows to detect the quality and dryness of the skin and review this through live videos of the visitor’s skin and then guide him to the appropriate ways to deal with the problem and how to prevent dry skin.
We were able to give our campaign visitors the opportunity to take commemorative photos with the campaign hashtag ( # How to read your skin? ) ,and encourage the visitors’ children to take pictures in medical uniforms to implant the desire in them to be our future doctors , images taken will be posted our campaign social-media accounts..
The visitors were also provided with small skin related gifts and a proper hospitality with deserts and drinks,
The campaign received a distinguished presence and a pleasant response from the visitors.
The first phase of this initiative has been completed as approved by the Deanship of Community Service and the College of Medicine. We hope that the second phase of the initiative will be completed in Riyadh, according to the proposal submitted to your Excellency previously.
