The Department of Orthopedics is one of the main departments at the College of Medicine and contributes, with other medical departments, to teaching and training medical students about basic knowledge pertinent to disorders of musculoskeletal system in the body before studying specialized courses in orthopedics and injuries.
As they move to higher levels, they study the most important and common diseases of locomotor system based on modern educational methods and strategies.
In addition, faculty members of the department guide graduates in registering for different fellowships programs.
The Department of orthopedic also contributes in serving the community through medical care services to inpatients at hospitals and in outpatient clinics as well as conducting the necessary surgeries at King Khalid Hospital in Majmaah.
Medical care services are also provided through the University Medical Services Unit.
