Under the patronage of the dean of College of Computer Science and Information, Dr. Mohammed Al-Shehri and the follow-up of the Vice-Dean for Educational Affairs, Dr. Talal Al-Harbi, a workshop entitled “Cybersecurity: Challenges, Responsibilities and Job Opportunities” was presented by Eng. Zeyad Al-Isa, Manager of Cybersecurity Governance at STC and Eng. Thamer Al-Shemmari, Director Cyber Incident Management Department at STC.
The workshop was conducted in the presence of the dean, vice-deans, head of departments, faculty members and large number of students.
After welcoming and introducing the presenters’ experience in cybersecurity, Eng. Al-Isa talked about the administrative aspect of cybersecurity and elaborated the link between governance and cybersecurity and its application in Saudi public institutions.
Talking about the technical aspect of cybersecurity, Eng. Al-Shemmari highlighted the state-of-the-art technologies and fields that should be the primary concern of students, pointing out the market’s demand for national cybersecurity experts.
The workshop was concluded by answering students’ questions about the cybersecurity professional certificates; fields that provide job opportunities; and self-study methods in cybersecurity.
