The E-Learning Unit at the College of Computer and Information Sciences inaugurated its training courses for faculty members for the second semester of the academic year 1439/1440 by a workshop on the use of the new LMS Blackboard. The Coordinator of the Unit, Mr. Mohammed Al-Ajmi, opened the session by welcoming the attending members to announce after that the beginning of the series of programmed trainings for the purpose. The Unit coordinator went through the official transfer of the university to the Blackboard system and some general information and regulations sent by the Deanship of e-learning wishing success in using the new system by the professors of the college.
The Coordinator of the Unit gave then the floor for the trainer Dr. Ahmed Reza Khan, who logged into the virtual training environment set by the Deanship of e-Learning at the University to train faculty members. The trainer explained the details of the transition to Blackboard and its multiple advantages compared to D2l. Dr. Khan explained then the components of the homepage and the course components, then how to edit personal information, language settings, calendar, privacy, and student mail. The discussion was then opened to answer faculty questions such as university student numbers, changing English names, changing the name of the course and adding guests to the course.
