A Workshop on Difficulties of Academic Advising

In response to the directive of the Dean of the College of Science and Humanities in Ghat, Dr. Omar Al-Omar and the follow-up of the Vice-Dean for Development and Quality, Dr. Ali Al-Sa’awi, the Student Support Unit held on Wednesday a workshop entitled “Difficulties of Academic Advising”.
The workshop aims to identify the importance of academic advising process and its programs for owing to the fact that it is one of the essential aspects of the educational process with direct impact on the student academic level.
The primary themes of the workshop are:
1. The Role of faculty members in academic advising
2. Raising Students Awareness of the importance of academic advising
3. Introducing students to the university and college system
4. Helping students to choose the suitable major based on their ability
5. Paying a special care to outstanding and innovative students
6. Paying attention to below-average and underachievement students
7. Handling students’ physiological and social problems
The Dean Dr. Al-Omar extended his thanks to the Student Support Unit for offering such training programs of value to the academic aspect.
