Participating in Fifth Meeting of Academic Associations

Dr. Faris Al-Fares participated in the fifth meeting of academic associations held in Riyadh and organized by the Department of Academic Associations at King Saud University under the title "Academic Associations and Private Sector: Community Partnership".
The 2-days meeting began on Wednesday 18/7/1439 and ended on Thursday 19/9/1439.
The first-day program included the official opening and the ceremony speech in the presence of His Royal Highness Deputy Governor of Riyadh. This was followed by launching the associated exhibition of the forum with the participation of more than 50 specialized academic associations.
Two sessions were conducted entitled "Strategy for planning and investing in Academic Associations" and “Academic Associations and Investment of Resources for Community Service"
Several think tank professionals from Shura Council and university professors participated in these sessions.
On the second day, four specialized workshops were held in regard to academic associations.
The first workshop entitled "Legal Regulations for academic associations" was presented by Mr. Ali bin Abdulrahman Al Humaidan, Advisor to the Legal Department at the Ministry of Education.
The second workshop entitled "Investment in the scientific journals of the Associations" was presented by Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Omari, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Society for Earth Sciences.
The third workshop titled "Planning for investment opportunities for Academic Associations “was presented by Dr. Nasser bin Saad Al Ajmi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Association for Special Education.
The fourth workshop entitled "Criteria for evaluating the efficiency of the performance of the annual Academic Associations" was presented by Dr. Turki bin Abdul Aziz Al-Tamim, Member of the Standing Committee of Academic Associations and Supervisor of the Unit concerned with evaluating the performance of academic associations.
The supervisor of the academic associations thanked the University Rector and the Vice Rector for graduate studies and scientific research for giving them the opportunity to participate in such a forum.
