Academic Advising is a professional service that aims to identify the problems that obstruct the students educational process or their adjustment of the university life requirements, and to provide help and support by raising the students’ awareness of their academic responsibilities and encouraging them to try harder to solve the academic and personal problems that may prevent the progress of achieving their educational goals This is done by providing students with the diverse academic skills that would enhance their academic achievement in addition to discussing their scientific ambitions. The academic consultative intends to convert the college aspirations by helping the students understand their academic problems and by making sure that these problems are thoroughly solved to ensure the graduation of a well educated women armed with science, faith, knowledge, self-confidence, and ability to contribute to the prosperity of our beloved country throughout the following objectives: - To create the preferable settings for prosperity and have positive social relationships with fellow students, faculty members and employees of the college, and find the appropriate solutions for the academic problems encountered in different situation over the students’ period of study at the college. - To introduce the new students to the university life through the advising programs and guidelines that describe the college, the deanships and its related departments and how the students can benefit from their services. - To introduce the students to the changes they may face in their college and how to deal with them through illustration programs, an introductory week and training courses set for the purpose. - Raising the students’ awareness of the academic difficulties and study skills, and how to prepare lesson plans and timetables, and equip them with the skills that will lead to academic success and personal contentment. - To help students choose the appropriate specialty according to their potential and scientific interests and the demand in the labor market. - To encourage excellent students for more achievements and guide them to take advantage of their abilities and potentials in the fields that are compatible with their scientific interest. - To help weak students acquire the skills needed to reach academic success. - To help students with special needs, during their academic life achieve the highest degree of psychological and social adjustment and academic achievement, according to their potentials and to study their problems and trying to resolve them - Raising awareness about academic regulations among the female students.
