His Excellency the Vice Rector for Educational Affairs, Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al Romaih, Pays a Visit to the College of Science and Humanities in Hotat Sudair

As a first initiative and after the decision of his Excellency the Rector of the University has been made to appoint Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al Romaih as the Vice Rector of the University for Educational Affairs, and as a continuation of the cooperation projects between the Vice Presidency for Educational Affairs and various colleges at the university, the College of Science and Humanities in Hotat Sudair sent an invitation to His Excellency the Vice Rector for Educational Affairs, Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al Romaih, on Monday 14/03/1436 H, corresponding to 05/01/2015. Therefore, the Vice Rector and his accompanying delegation were welcomed by Dean of the College, Dr. Tariq bin Suleiman Al Bahlal, and Vice Dean of the College for Educational Affairs, Dr. Yousef bin Mohammed Al Mahous, and Vice Dean of the College for Student Affairs, Dr. Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Olayan and a number of faculty members in the College. The visit has started by meeting Dean of the College, Vice Deans of the College, Heads of Department, as well as Supervisors of the Units affiliated with the Vice Deanship for Educational Affairs. During the meeting, Vice Dean of the College for Educational Affairs, Dr. Yousef bin Mohammed Al Mahous, delivered a presentation on the college's achievements over the past years and the future plans of the Vice Deanship, as well as the developmental mobility being done through the collaboration with the academic departments and their subordinate units, which have been developed in accordance with the organizational structure of the University (Unit of Assessment and Measurement - Unit of Plans and Study Programs - Unit of Education Technology- Unit of Student Support - Unit of Excellence in Teaching and Learning- Unit of Community Service and Continuing Education). Then an open meeting was held between the Vice Rector with the Heads and Supervisors of Scientific Departments, as well as the Coordinators of Units, Dr. Al Romaih opened the meeting by a speech in which he expressed his thanks to the Dean of the College, Vice Deans, and Heads of Departments for what he has touched of hard and diligent work to improve the college, where he uncovered the aim of the visit, as he explained the trends of the University Vice Presidency in the next phase, indicating the priorities of the university in the next future; representing in the moving towards paying much attention and support the student because he is the basis of the educational process. On his part, Dean of the College welcomed Dr. Al Romaih, then he explained the orientations of the college administration, followed by a presentation and discussion about the achievements of the educational affairs of the college, and some of the challenges that stand in the way of achievement, as well as the ways to deal with them, on his part the Vice Rector answered all the queries and questions that have been raised, in an atmosphere of transparency, openness and clarity. Then the Vice Rector and his accompanying delegation went on a tour of the college, where he inspected the process of conducting tests also he visited the Unit of Assessment and Measurement and briefed on what the Unit does implement of tasks in order to run tests easily and smoothly, then he inspected one of the Committees of Tests at the college, where he was briefed on the preparations and settings taken by the college to conduct the tests successfully including the halls of tests as well as the organized committees, to run the process of tests, of teaching members and administrative ones, so as to provide the appropriate atmosphere to ensure that the performance of students for their tests is being done with precision and pleased. The Vice Rector has expressed his happiness regarding the students' commitment to the rules of discipline and behavior within the committees, as well as the interest of students in good achievement which was clearly seemed in their enthusiasm to perform the tests seriously and effectively. Dr. Al Romaih explained to students that these tests are only signs which indicate the percentage of collection and utilization of the scientific subjects they had studied. He also focused on the need to provide all the avenues to serve the student during tests. At the end of the visit, Dr. Al Romaih took a leave expressing his thanks to the Dean of the College, Vice Deans, and Supervisors of the Academic Departments for this visit, which is considered as a sign of the keenness of the college and its leaders and employees to provide every assistance, and support to help the student in his university life
