MU Rector Prize For Memorizing the Holy Qur’an

  1. Majmaah University Rector Prize For Memorizing the Holy Qur’an About the prize:  The competition is mainly concerned with memorizing and revising the Holy Qur’an in addition to interpreting its meanings "tafseer". Objectives: To encourage students to memorize the Holy Qur’an. To link students with the holy Qur’an to keep it in their hearts. To allow those who memorize the Holy Qur’an to compete. To highlight the kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s concern with the Holy Qur’an. The competition conditions: The participant shall be a student in one of the colleges of Majmaah University The participant shall be willing to represent the university in external competitions after winning. The participant must participate in one of the branches of the competition The participant should be prepared to take a written interpretation test in one of the Surahs of the branch they are participating in. The chapters which the student will memorize should be consecutive (from the beginning of the Qur’an or from Surat AnNas).    Competition branches:  The competition has five branches as follows: Memorizing the holy Holy Qur’an along with interpreting one  Surah of the branch. Memorizing fifteen chapters of the Qur’an along with interpreting one  Surah of the branch. Memorizing ten chapters of the Qur’an along with interpreting one Surah of the branch. Memorizing five chapters of the Qur’an along with interpreting one Surah of the branch. Memorizing the two chpaters (AnNaba- AlMulk) and  interpreting one Surah of the branch. Participation and competition procedures:  Each participant shall register through the college’s activity supervisor. Each college shall nominate the students who are qualified to take part in the competition. The judges shall be two members specialized in the Holy Qur’an to select the participants. The dates for choosing the finalists shall be announced for the male students at the main campus in Majmaah, and for female students at one of the MU colleges. Prizes will be awarded to winners (first-second-third) In order to win, the participant is required to score more than 70%. Prizes and Awards:  The winners (first, second and third) in each branch of the competition will be given a financial award as follows: Branch First Place Second Place Third Place First 9000 8000 7000 Second 7000 6000 5000 Third 6000 5000 4000 Forth 4000 3000 3000 Fifth 2000 1500 2000 Note: Male students’ awards are separated from female students’ awards.    The proposed Surahs for the interpretation are: First branch: Surat Al'Imran Second branch: Surat (AnNahl) for the first half of the Qur’an, and Surat (TaHa) for the last 10 chapters. Third branch: Surat (AlAnfa)l for the first 10 chapters of the Qur’an, and Surat (ArRum) for the last 10 chapters. Fourth branch: (First part) of the first five chapters of the Holy Qur’an, and Surat (AlAhqaf)for the last five chapters. Fifth branch: the interpretation of Surat (ALMulk) Note: The reference of the interpretation is Imam
