A Training Course Entitled: Speed Research Reading

The student activities committee in cooperation with the training unit in the faculty held a training course entitled: “Speed Research Reading” on Sunday 26/4/1436 corresponding with 15/2/2015 in the ceremony hall. It was presented by Mr. Hussein Albataynah. He spoke on reading as a skill that can be developed and enhanced for an individual to reach higher levels in speed reading, comprehension and ability to recall. Moreover, the problems related to reading were clarified and divided into two stages: 1. Before-reading problems: a. There is no time limit; b. the community trick (reading is not a hobby; it is a necessity); c. reading time (Pariknson); d. ideas (what to read? why to read?. 2. During-reading problems: a. internal utterance; b. repeating the line; c. word by word; d. no goal specification; e. losing focus; f. distraction. Then, a number of ideas related to reading skill were presented. Also, students were trained on some sub-skills such as preparing the book, perfect sitting, preparing the place in terms of lighting, temperature and noise-free area. At the end of the course, students raised some questions and the presented replied. Some suggestions and recommendations were discussed
