The Student Activity Unit together with a number of students from different academic departments visited the astronomical observatory in Hawtet Sedair on Thursday 14/05/1436 H. The students were well received, and then they toured the observatory. Dr. Majdi Yusuf explained four parts of the exhibition: the astronomical telescopes and their utilization, the solar system with its different physical and dynamic components, and the various nebulae and galaxies with their different types and shapes. Students also listened to the explanations about the visible and real movements of the moon in the sky, the moon phases and the processes of eclipses. At the end of the tour, the visitors expressed their admiration of the observatory and thanked their hosts for the good hospitality
